Angels
The different species and sub-species of sentient beings in Felarya. From giants to tinies, and preys to predators. From the ingenious Humans, to the reclusive Majuras, the noble Sphinxes, the mysterious Nemesises, the peaceful Gerridis or the fierce Crimson Maidens.
Probably the best known type of Ceiciels, angels are supernatural beings with the body of a human, adorned by feathered wings. They are extraordinarily beautiful with delicate features, and are universally portrayed as being kindhearted, loyal, friendly, powerful, endowed with great wisdom, and having a legendary protective healing magic. In reality these traits and abilities vary a lot from one species to another, as does their size. There are actually many different kinds of angels, including solaros, archangels, and cherubs... and some of them are not nearly as gentle as people think. Angels radiate an aura that reflects their mood. For example, a sad angel in a city would make the entire neighborhood surrounding them sad as well. They are also good at quickly understanding the emotions of others, able to sense when a friend is in distress or if someone is lying to them.
Angels are natural enemies and rivals of succubi, although there hasn't been any major fighting between the two since the cease-fire that ended the Tenebris War between Heaven and Hell, a war that took place ages ago and nearly led to the ruin of both sides, as described in the book Theory on the Nature of Hell and Heaven by the archmage Talbeln Veridimus.
Angels are very rare in Felarya. While some of them are human-sized and live among humans in cities, often serving as renowned healers, many angels coming to Felarya appear to be of a giant size. Serious caution is advised when encountering them. Angels rarely leave heaven at all without a good reason, and of all worlds, Felarya is a very unlikely destination for them, unless they have and idea in the back of their mind. Indeed, on some occasions an angel will get to taste damned souls en route to the hell gates, sometimes offered by a sneaky succubus from the other side, and sometimes they discover they enjoy the taste. Those angels might try at first to discretely eat only other damned souls, and a few will just stop at that, but the majority find they want to eat more... and Felarya is the perfect place to fulfill their needs, far from the eyes of any watcher. Thus, an adventurer suddenly coming across the rare and splendid sight of an angel in the Felaryan jungle may be in for a very unpleasant surprise: being on the menu! Angels will often apologize to their prey before swallowing it, in order to cheer it up. Needless to say this make little difference in the end as their stomach is just as bad a place to end up as a succubus's. The fact that angels are sometimes predators is a little known fact, as they try to remain as discrete as possible, sometimes using magic like invisibility or directly teleporting their prey in to their stomach to help conceal their actions, all the while keeping a straight, albeit blushing, face. Who could ever suspect such pure, innocent creatures anyway?
Minimal: A totally harmless being such as a mouse or a rabbit.
Very Low: Mostly herbivores but who can still strike back if attacked.
Low: Various animals such as felines.
Moderate: A moderately dangerous Felaryan creature can still be very dangerous in another world. For example a great white shark would rank between Low and Moderate
Medium: A predatory, dangerous and often man-eating creature.
High: A great predator. Crisis is in this category.
Very High: A top predator. This creature could take on a small army.
Critical: In Felaryan scales, very few creatures reach this rank.
Extreme: A guardian or a mythical creature. Only a god can hope to survive a confrontation with one of these.
Purifier Angels

Purifier angels are a rare giant species of female angels. They are all very proficient at dimensional magic and travel a lot from world to world, never staying very long in the same place once their task is finished. They are seen as a real enigma by many, including other angels. For some reasons, they generate an incredible amount of light or "positive" energy, which allows them to easily overwhelm creatures with darkness energy in them, such as demons, and to repel their attacks. While they are a living nightmare for these creatures, they stand fairly powerless (aside from their size) against beings without affinity for darkness. A Purifier angel will relentlessly track and devour creatures with darkness in them, either by swallowing them whole if they are small enough, or by using her blade, imbued with her excessive positive energy, to shrink the target to a more manageable size. Once swallowed, the prey is digested in the same fashion as in any stomach, aside from the fact that the angel turns the darkness of her victim into light, thus "cleansing" them, which makes little difference for said victim in the end. Purifier angels always insist vigorously on this point though.
Purifier angels have a strange psyche. They are convinced that they act righteously in any circumstance, with a mix of determination, naiveness and innocence. It's almost impossible to convince a Purifier angel to not "purify" you (IE: swallow you whole and alive!) once she had decided to do so. They are very voracious and when they sense darkness inside a creature, they feel an almost irresistible urge to "cleanse" it. The problem is darkness doesn't necessarily mean "evil", a concept Purifier angels apparently have very little interest in. They don't have the slightest sense of modesty either, going around all naked and appearing mostly during the night or in dark places like Tenebra maze. Due to their nature, it is virtually impossible for a Purifier angel to "Fall". Under typical circumstances, it simply cannot happen. However, there have been dramatic cases of Purifier Angels undergoing inversion, and becoming Defiler angels. Exactly how the process occurs is unknown, but all are rumored to have attempted to seek out and cleanse a powerful darkness-based being; Déméchrelle in Felarya for example.
Defiler Angels

Threat: Low - Medium
Little is known about those dreaded beings. It's assumed a Defiler angel is the result of a Purifier angel going terribly wrong. While Purifier angels exist to consume darkness and transform it into light, Defiler angels live to consume light and transform it into darkness. They seem to radiate darkness from the very core of their being, and absorb all light within their presence. They have pretty much the same powers that they possessed as Purifiers, only they work in an opposite fashion. Defilers are apparently just as unconcerned with matters of good and evil as they were when they were Purifiers... their sole interest is devouring creatures strongly aligned with light. Rumored sightings of a Defiler angel is enough to set Heaven on high alert, as they are considered an extreme threat to other angels, and nothing less than an entire squad of elite warriors or Archangels will be sent to investigate locations where the Defiler was said to be seen. Strangely, it appears that Purifier angels and Defiler angels have no effect at all upon one another; or perhaps more accurately, their natures perfectly repel one another like similar magnetic poles. Despite being one of the most darkness-aligned creatures in existence, a Defiler angel can not be consumed by a Purifier angel, and vice versa.
Revadas

The question of the Revadas being actual angels is a matter of debate, however most people call them as such, and the revadas themselves don't seem to mind. They are giant aquatic beings swimming majestically in the liquid immensity of the heavenly realm of Pazamal. The color of their skin varies but is often a mix of pale blue with white stripes and patches. Their long flowing hair is usually thick, with colors varying from deep blue, to pale green, dark or silver and they possess slightly slanted eyes.
Their most remarkable trait is their large majestic fin-like wings connected from their arms to their back. Its usually brightly colored with beautiful and intricate patterns and is the pride of their owner, who sometimes decorate it. They also possess fleshy whiskers of sort on the side of their head. Those organs are very sensible to vibration and waves and allow the Revadas to "feel" their immediate surroundings and create a basic map of it.
When a Revada move, they are surrounded by an aura of silence. It's believed they actually feed on sounds, which are perfectly conveyed by the strange waters of the realm. Thus when you hear a lull in the crystalline song of Pazamal, you know a Revada is nearby. They can definitely appreciate the quality of the sound they absorb; if you meet a female Revada and you play music to her, the better the quality of your music, the more delighted by the meal she will be! They use telepathy in order to communicate. Revadas are guardians of Pazamal though, and while they feed mostly on both sounds and the positive energies of the realm, they wouldn't hesitate to widen that diet for intruders.

Diranis

Diranis are a species of angel sometimes called Solar angels. They usually have very long hair, and their wings seem to be made of pure energy. They are very proficient at dimensional magic and move a lot, often being sent as envoys or emissaries. Diranis are fierce warriors with sharp eyes, attacking at very high speed with pinpoint accuracy. They are solid spellcasters on top of that, making them very fearsome opponents indeed. One of their most remarkable traits is their ability to make their body flare an absolutely blinding light that dazzles their enemies and inspires their allies in battle.
